JOB OPPORTUNITY: Director of Anti-Bullying Project (Bakersfield)
The Gay & Lesbian Center of Bakersfield is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of our Anti-Bullying Project. This is a one-year, grant-funded position. Candidate requirements include:
Qualification as an independent, self-monitoring contractor who has performed work for other organizations.
Be in possession of an established office facility separate from the Center, including computer and phone service, with appropriate insurance for an independent business structure separate from the Center.
Skilled at in-person and written communications.
Transportation to fulfill responsibilities and valid California Driver’s License.
Skilled at using Microsoft Office.
Ability to provide professional representation of the Center.
$20,000 over a one year period, including regular operating expenses (Source is the grant from The California Endowment). Board to establish benchmarks and time frames and amount of payment.
- Create a work plan to fulfill grant requirements.
Set appropriate objectives and priorities to achieve the work plan, and conduct activities, recruit board and volunteer support as needed to accomplish objectives.
Build positive relationships with individuals and organizations as needed to accomplish objectives.
Participate in Center Strategic Planning sessions as needed.
Make advance requests to board for Center financial support if unusual expenditures are needed to accomplish objectives.
